UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA AT KEARNEY (UNK)
Position: Ronald J. Crocker Chair in Orchestra. Tenure track. Responsibilities: Serve as Director of the Kearney Symphony Orchestra, a university and/or community orchestra of about 60 performers, teach in an orchestral instrumental applied area, and teach other courses commensurate with the candidate’s training and experience and departmental needs. Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to foster community relationships required. Active recruitment and retention, scholarship and creative activity, and university service are expected. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in music. Evidence of successful orchestral conducting, college-level teaching, scholarship-creative activity, and service. Experience developing and/or starting a youth or community orchestra. Rank/Salary: The screening committee seeks to recommend appointment at the rank of associate or full professor; rank/salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
