Full-time Associate or Full Professor (tenure-track appointment) in the Choral Activities department.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Qualifications: Outstanding artistic accomplishments as a choral conductor; ability to inspire gifted conducting students and singers. Experience conducting orchestras and major choral/orchestral repertoire. Extensive and successful graduate conductor teaching. Established reputation as performer, scholar, and/or teacher. A significant record of creative activity.

Responsibilities: Serve as Chair of the Choral Activities Department, direct the university’s top choral ensembles, teach graduate and undergraduate choral methods and conducting and graduate courses related to the candidate’s expertise; create and maintain partner relationships with area schools and teachers to facilitate recruitment; advise students; direct graduate research/creativity; maintain visible profile and active program of scholarly and creative activities; and, engage in appropriate service to the College and University.

Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance is located on the University’s main campus in the culturally rich and diverse city of Philadelphia. It enrolls approximately 350 undergraduate and 350 graduate students who are served by more than 50 full-time faculty and approximately 100 affiliate faculty. The Temple University Concert Choir is a highly select ensemble with touring as well as regional and national exposure. The choir has presented numerous premiere performances. Recent tours have included the Republic of China, Hong Kong, Venezuela, Canada, and Puerto Rico, as well as areas within the United States.
