The Department of Music at the College of William and Mary seeks a conductor and Director of Orchestras. This full-time, non-tenure eligible position is for the duration of one academic year with the possibility of multi-year contracts in the future. Responsibilities include directing the Symphony Orchestra (80 members) and teaching courses according to area of expertise and departmental need, maintaining active professional engagement beyond the classroom in field(s) of interest, and contributing to the growth of a dynamic music department through departmental and college-wide service.

Required Qualifications
The candidate will have a doctorate (held by time of appointment, August 10, 2013) or equivalent professional experience, a significant record of achievement in teaching and professional engagement at the college or university level, and should possess a strong interest in advancing the goals of the discipline of music within the context of a liberal arts curriculum.
