THE 2013 ANSBACHER FELLOWSHIP FOR YOUNG CONDUCTORS PROGRAM, SALZBURG, AUSTRIA

THE 2013 ANSBACHER FELLOWSHIP FOR YOUNG CONDUCTORS PROGRAM, SALZBURG, AUSTRIA
This fellowship, sponsored by The American Austrian Foundation (AAF), provides young and promising conductors from the United States, aged 30 and younger, the opportunity to spend four weeks at the Salzburg Festival observing the world’s leading conductors and artists at work during rehearsals and performances.  The chance to observe and actually meet the maestros will be an unforgettable experience for any young conductor.  Living at the Schloss Arenberg, a mere ten minutes from the Festival Hall, will provide an opportunity to interact with members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra who are in residence during the month of August.  Qualified young conductors, born in 1983 or later, who have finished their academic studies or who are working for graduate diplomas in conducting at top-ranking American music schools are invited to apply.  Application details are available on the web-site:  (http://www.americanaustrianfoundation.org).  The deadline for applications is Friday, March 15, 2013.  The program is operated by the AAF in memory of Maestro Charles Ansbacher who began his generous sponsorship of this Fellowship in 1998.  Complete information and a downloadable application form are available on the web-site.
