This 5-day professional choral conducting master class is open to choral conductors, auditors and singers by application. The master class will offer practical rehearsal strategies, technique instruction, choral warm-ups, and seminars on performance issues, score study and preparation, creating compelling performances, and readings of choral literature for choirs of all levels.
Conductors and auditors will participate in daily conducting master classes sessions with Dr. Jan Harrington and each conductor will conduct the Festival chorus twice daily. The master class will culminate in a public performance led by the participant conductors.
Enrollment is limited to 8 conductors, with no limit for auditors or singers. Auditors attend all sessions, including the master classes, but will not conduct the Festival chorus. Singers accepted into the Festival Chorus attend all rehearsals and the performance as indicated in the schedule.

Master class goals for conductors —
Enhance practical conducting skills during daily master classes.
Daily instruction on a variety of topics related to choral conducting.
Reading session from a packet of octavos selected by Dr. Harrington. Music for reading sessions is included in master class fee.
Conduct the Festival chorus twice daily.
Conduct the Festival chorus in performance at the end of the master class.
Video recording of your performance.
Have fun making great music, make new friends.
