Director of Orchestral Studies. The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time temporary instructor.  This position is a non-tenure earning, 1-year non-renewable appointment.

RESPONSIBILITIES    
The successful candidate will be expected to manage all aspects relative to the Huxford (University) Symphony Orchestra, including but not limited to: scheduling, auditions, repertoire selection, rehearsals, and concerts.  Additional teaching duties as required to fill load (specific to qualifications and abilities).

QUALIFICATIONS            
Appropriate terminal degrees in the field are required.  Master’s degree with professional experience minimum.  Documented experience as a resident conductor of professional level and academically related ensembles is required.  The successful candidate will demonstrate a wide spectrum of success in the discipline of music.
