Interim Music Director for The Concert Singers (located in Westchester, California, near the LAX airport)
 
The interim music director shall, with the concurrence of the Board of Directors, select music for two concerts: 1.) A holiday concert in December, 2013 and; 2.) A spring concert in late March, 2014. The interim music director shall select and contract for, with board approval, vocal soloists and instrumentalists for each of the concerts. The interim music director shall conduct Tuesday evening rehearsals at Covenant Presbyterian Church at the corner of Sepulveda and 80th Street in Westchester from 7:30 until 9:45 pm during preparation for the concerts. In addition, the interim music director shall conduct dress rehearsals, concert, and special rehearsals as needed for
concert preparation. Special rehearsals are not the norm with our group. The interim music director may conduct an additional performance of holiday music if the opportunity arises. The interim music director will attend three board of directors meetings on the second Monday evening of September, December and March and work with the board in promoting the musical vitality of the group.
The interim music director will audition prospective members for the group and invite those who do well in the audition to sing with the group.
The interim music director will be paid as an independent contractor rather than as an employee of the corporation. Compensation for the interim music director will be $2,100 per concert cycle prorated monthly. Selection of a interim music director will take place early this summer before the start of rehearsals in September, 2013.
