Royal Flemish Philharmonic – International conductor’s masterclass led by Edo de Waart
Royal Flemish Philharmonic – International conductor’s masterclass
led by Edo de Waart
The master classes in orchestral conducting are organized according to a 4 x 4 x 4 principle: 4 (maximum 5) conductors, 4 days, 4 sessions a day.
Each conductor gets valuable time on the podium with Belgium’s leading professional orchestra, the Royal Flemish Philharmonic. The attendees can benefit from Chief conductor Edo de Waart’s life-long experience and collaboration with the most renowned orchestras. He coaches the participants personally during all sessions. Together with members of the orchestra, he discusses and advises on refining points of technique, interpretation and preparation. Each day the attendees have the opportunity to conduct the orchestra during one of the four sessions in very different repertoire. The sessions close with a public showcase on the last day.
The maximum age of the candidates is 36.
All sessions are open for observers.
Participation in the master classes is free of charge. Attendees have to provide for their own accommodation and travel.
