The College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Director of Wind Studies in the Ensembles and Conducting Division. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Assistant Director serves as the Music Director of the CCM Wind Ensemble. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited, to graduate and undergraduate instrumental conducting, Survey of Wind Literature and Music Education courses that reflect the candidate’s experience and expertise.

The Ensembles and Conducting Division offers professional training programs in choral, orchestral and wind studies for conductors, leading to MM and DMA degrees and for commercial music leading to the BM degree and jazz musicians, leading to BM and MM degrees. The Division provides ensemble experiences and offers professional training in ensemble rehearsal, performance, musicianship, technique, style and repertoire. CCM’s student musicians acquire extensive experience performing the major ensemble literature of their discipline and gain rigorous training in performing as ensemble members, under the leadership of conductors. The Division of Music Education offers formal programs of study leading to the BM in Music Education and the MM in Music Education. Drawing upon widely varied institutional and community resources, these programs integrate the high quality of music training and experience available in a conservatory environment with a strong program of pedagogical preparation. Graduates of these programs enjoy a 100% placement rate, most often as school music teachers, community arts personnel, church musicians, faculty members at colleges and universities and students in advanced programs of study.
Position Qualification: A master’s degree is required; a doctoral degree is preferred. A proven track record of successful secondary and/or collegiate teaching.
