The Associate Professor and Director of Bands is a full-time faculty position with artistic and administrative leadership for the Department of Bands within the School of Music; conducts the LSU Wind Ensemble, teaches graduate conducting and graduate wind literature courses; collaborates with the Director of Athletic Bands, Associate Director of Bands and with faculty across the School of Music; successfully recruits and retains talented students at all academic levels (baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral); advises graduate theses and research projects as necessary; provides leadership for the continuing development of summer programs, workshops, camps and conferences. 

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Music; minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience at the college level; artist-caliber performing skills; demonstrated teaching and recruiting ability.

Doctorate in Music or related field; experience in public school environments; prior administrative experience.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
