Position: Assistant Professor, Music (Orchestral). Full-time, tenure-track position, pending budgetary approval. Responsibilities: Conduct and administer the Rhode Island College Symphony Orchestra, teach classes in areas of the candidates experience and qualifications according to department needs; recruit and retain new students, and foster relationships and build partnerships with area schools. Qualifications: (Required) Doctorate in music, or Master’s degree in music with significant orchestral conducting experience; a proven record of achievement in college or professional orchestral conducting, teaching, professional activity, and outreach; ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. (Preferred:) Qualified to teach Music Theory, Music Education, Music History, or Applied Strings. Begin: Fall, 2014. Deadline: Dec. 1, 2013.
