Position: Director of Orchestral Studies. Responsibilities: Coordinate and guide all aspects of the orchestral program. Conduct the University Symphony Orchestra; lead the graduate orchestral conducting program (including Doctoral and Master’s programs); maintain a positive national and international profile; assist in the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate music majors, as well as graduate orchestral conducting majors; maintain creative/scholarly and service contributions appropriate for assignment. Qualifications: Substantial conducting and teaching experience at the university level; evidence of outstanding musicianship and conducting skills; demonstrated experience in leading a comprehensive collegiate orchestral program. Master’s degree in conducting, doctorate preferred, or equivalent professional experience required. Begin: Fall, 2014. Deadline: Position is open until filled.
