Dates & Structure

Saturday 28 June – Saturday July 5 inclusive (i.e. arriving June 27 and departing July 6)

“the most thorough, intensive and inspiring class!”

With this class we aim to provide a significant experience of working with a professional orchestra of high level, both in rehearsal and a concert performance, and the activities include accompanying soloists. The programme includes a mixture of core repertoire and less familiar pieces from classical to contemporary and the structure allows time to introduce concepts regarding manual technique, rehearsal technique and score preparation. In order to make all this possible we keep the class small – a maximum of ten active participants – and the time allocation with the orchestra is generous: in excess of 150 minutes for each active participant.

All sessions are recorded with HD video and we have the services of a professional photographer for both classes and the final concert. The course fee includes hotel, breakfast, at least one other meal every day and the closing party.

Our objectives are that participants leave with strong and positive ideas how to move forwards, a DVD of a performance with a good professional orchestra recorded in high quality audio and video, and some really strong friendships arising from sharing a challenging and inspiring process with others.

Applications

If you would like to apply please complete the form overleaf or by using this link.

Early application is recommended since there is normally high demand for active places.

Applications for active places other than from previous participants must include video material and additional supporting documents (cv, recommendations, reviews etc.) which should be sent to info@conductorsacademy.org. Ideally video material should be provided via a link to youtube or similar (you can set up a private page if you don’t want it to be visible to anyone else) or by file transfer (from a service like yousendit.com). Please do not email video material or send by post.
