ARTIS–NAPLES, NAPLES, FLORIDA Position: Assistant Conductor

Position:  Assistant Conductor.  The successful applicant will support the artistic vision of the organization which supports several musical ensembles in the community, including the Naples Philharmonic, and the Naples {Philharmonic Youth Ensembles (Youth Orchestra, Youth Symphonia, and Youth Chorale).  Responsibilities:  Establish a relationship with the Music Director based on artistic goals and guidance;  cover all Masterworks subscription concerts;  conduct family and education concerts as assigned;  conduct run-out, special, and community concerts as assigned; and conduct the Naples Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.  The individual will provide artistic support for the Music Director as requested;  work with team members as appropriate to  develop run-out, special, community and chamber music programs;  work with the Education team to design Youth Orchestra programs in a manner that serves the students’ educational needs and grows the youth ensembles programs;  select all Youth Orchestra repertoire in conjunction with team members;  serve as primary adjudicator for Youth Orchestra auditions;  and provide artistic support as needed for Artis–Naples performing arts activities, including Naples Philharmonic chamber music programs.  Public relations activities will include representing the orchestra to donors and potential donors in private and public settings throughout the calendar year;  speak  to audiences before, during and after selected concerts as required, and provide administrative support to the staff by participating in scheduling and programmed discussions for the Naples Philharmonic and Naples Philharmonic Youth Ensembles.  Deadline:  Materials must be received by April 18, 2014.  Submit:  Send to Alexa Weinberg by e-mail:  <> the following items:  (1)  Cover Letter;  (2)  Resume;  (3)  References and/or letters of recommendation; (4) Video Recording which should show recent conducting experience ideally demonstrating a varied selection of repertoire, a video perspective which shows the front view of the conductor from a reasonable distance.
