INTERNATIONAL CONDUCTING INSTITUTE CZECH REPUBLIC WORKSHOP (July 29-August 14, 2014): This course focuses on conducting (baton) technique, effective communication with the baton and body, and score study and interpretation. It includes: 120+ minutes of podium time with orchestra, 2 baton technique/conducting classes, 4-6 score study sessions/score previews, 12 video reviews, individual coaching and lessons, and a FINAL PARTICIPANT CONCERT. Participants will receive videos of their conducting sessions and complimentary photos of themselves conducing the orchestra. Faculty: Maestros Kirk Trevor, Donald Schleicher, and Tomas Netopil. Repertoire includes: Wagner: Siegfried Idyll, Stravinsky: Dumbarton Oaks, Mozart: Symphony No. 29, Beethoven: Symphony No. 6, Schumann: Symphony No. 4, Strauss: Emperor Waltz, Dvořák: Czech Suite, Strauss: Don Juan, Prokofiev: Symphony No. 5, and Janáček: Sinfonietta.
