INTERNATIONAL CONDUCTORS WORKSHOP AND COMPETITION (ICWC), ATLANTA, GEORGIA – Summer 2014
The fifth summer International Conductors Workshop and Competition ICWC in cooperation with Georgia Southern University and the Gwinnett Symphony Chamber Orchestra is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 11 -13, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia. The workshop is based on the techniques promoted by Ferrara, Monteux, Musin and Szell. This intensive and well respected three day program is open to conductors at all levels of experience. Faculty includes Adrian Gnam, Director; Dr. Gregory Pritchard and Robert Gutter, Associate Directors. Each participant will conduct a professional orchestra throughout the workshop and on a public performance on Sunday, July 13, 2014. Repertoire will include works by Barber, Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Rossini, Strauss, Stravinsky, Verdi and Wagner. A major benefit will include the selection of up to three participants to conduct on a concert of one of three orchestras during a current or future season, depending on the orchestra and the winner’s availability. Participant fees have been reduced to $1550.00 which includes a professionally recorded video and DVD of each participant’s orchestral sessions. Application deadline is May 16, 2014. Participants will be selected on a first come-first served basis. Open until filled. Upon notification of acceptance, a $500 deposit must be made with the balance due by June 13, 2014. Auditor fees are $500.00. No refunds will be made after June 1, 2014. Submit: A completed application online; a non-refundable $50.00 application fee; a short resume and a DVD if available.
