The Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra requires a Youth Orchestra Music Director with long-range vision, leadership and a strong commitment to building the Fayetteville Symphony Youth Music Institute (YMI) program in the community. As Music Director of the YMI, this individual will serve as the Youth Orchestra’s primary conductor and oversee all artistic matters for the ensemble, including recruiting, auditions, rehearsals and repertoire selection. This position will be combined with a part-time position as adjunct faculty in strings, to begin August 2014, at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Artist level string instrument performer and successful teaching experience required, and substantial conducting experience preferred.
