NOTICE OF FACULTY VACANCY
POSITION: Full-time senior appointment in Instrumental Music – Director of Orchestral Studies
RANK/SALARY: Associate/Full Professor, tenure track appointment in Instrumental Studies
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as Director of Orchestra; conduct concerts and tours; prepare and conduct major orchestra performances in professional venues and recordings; teach graduate and undergraduate courses in instrumental conducting, or other topics related to the candidate’s expertise; advise students; cultivate and maintain relationships with professional associations and schools to facilitate visibility and recruitment; maintain visible professional profile; engage in appropriate service to the College, the University, and the profession.
QUALIFICATIONS: Outstanding artistic accomplishments as an orchestral conductor. Significant experience conducting orchestras and outstanding orchestral repertoire. Ability to inspire gifted students. Established reputation as a conductor and/or teacher with a consistent record of creativity and/or scholarship. Earned graduate degree in conducting preferred.
