The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Orchestral Conducting. The faculty member serves as the Music Director and Conductor of the CCM Concert Orchestra, and as Director of Café Momus, CCM’s contemporary music ensemble. Teaching responsibilities include, but are not limited to, (1) orchestral conducting techniques at the graduate level for DMA Cognates and graduate choral conducting majors; (2) score reading at the graduate level; (3) and symphonic literature at the graduate level. The faculty member will perform administrative and supervisory functions as agreed upon with the Director of Orchestral Studies, including supervision of DMA Cognates in Orchestral Conducting.
Position Qualification: M.M. degree or equivalent academic degree, and a minimum of two years of professional experience. Candidate must demonstrate a broad knowledge of orchestral, operatic and contemporary orchestral literature, must demonstrate a proven record of conducting experience with appropriate level of collegiate, conservatory or professional orchestral ensemble, and must have excellent communication and leadership skills.
