CONDUCTING WORKSHOP (Kirk Trevor, Faculty)

Presented by the International Conducting Institute, this one-week intensive course

will take place March 8-13, in New York City. Lead faculty will be Kirk Trevor, and

the ensemble will be the Astoria Symphony Orchestra, an excellent pre-professional

training orchestra consisting of advanced conservatory students and recent graduates.

REPERTOIRE: Mozart Magic Flute Overture, Samuel Barber Knoxville, Summer 1915,

and Brahms Symphony No. 4. The course includes score study sessions, baton technique

classes, score previews, video-taped conducting sessions with orchestra, video review

sessions, individual coachings, and a NY Phil rehearsal visit. Only 12 active participants

will be accepted. All sessions will be video recorded, though participants are encouraged

to bring their own cameras if they wish. Tuition: $1,350/1,400 US for active participant

(40/50 minutes podium time), and $350 auditor; travel and accommodations are the
