INTERNATIONAL CONDUCTORS WORKSHOP AND COMPETITION (ICWC), ATLANTA, GEORGIA
The 12th annual ICWC in cooperation with Georgia Southern University and the Gwinnett Symphony Chamber Orchestra is scheduled for Jan. 16-19, 2015. This intensive, well attended and well respected four-day workshop is open to conductors at all levels of experience, and is based on the techniques promoted by Ferrara, Monteux, Musin, and Szell. Faculty includes Adrian Gnam, Director; with Associate Directors Dr. Gregory Pritchard and Robert Gutter. Each participant will conduct a professional orchestra throughout the workshop and on a public performance on Monday, Jan. 19. A major benefit will include the selection at the end of the workshop of up to three participants to conduct on a concert of one of three orchestras during a current or future season, depending on the orchestra and the winner’s availability. Participant fees have been reduced to $1,550.00 which includes a professionally recorded video and DVD of each participant’s orchestral sessions. Application deadline is Nov. 14, 2014,  applications will be accepted on a first come-first served basis. Open until filled.  Upon notification of acceptance, a $500 deposit must be made with the balance due by Dec. 5, 2014. Auditor fees are $400.00. No refunds will be made after Dec. 19, 2014. Submit: A completed application on-line; a non-refundable $50.00 application fee; a short resume and a DVD if available.
