1) PROGRAMME AND COURSE SUPERVISOR
All phases of the Masterclass (music rehearsals, orchestra rehearsals, staging rehearsals), lead by Maestro
Riccardo Muti with the “Luigi Cherubini” Youth Orchestra, will focus on Giuseppe Verdi’s Falstaff.
2) COURSES AND STUDENTS’ STATUS
Applicants can apply for one of the following:
– conductors course
– répétiteurs course
Applicants can enrol as
– regular students, or
– audit students
3) DATES AND VENUE
Regular students: 9-26 July, 2015; Teatro Alighieri, Ravenna
Audit students: 9-21 July, 2015; Teatro Alighieri, Ravenna
Applicants as regular students will:
– be between the age of 18 and 30 at application deadline;
– hold a suitable Diploma by an Italian State Conservatory, an officially recognised private Music School or an
equivalent foreign certification, as follows:
– a Diploma in Orchestral Conducting for the “conductors course”
– a Diploma in Piano Performance for the “répétiteurs course”
A Diploma in Piano Performance is an asset for applicants to the “conductors course” as well.
Applications must be submitted on the attached form (original or copy), or prepared in accordance with it.
They must be sent by registered mail to the following address no later than 31 January 2015.

All applications postmarked after the due date will not be accepted.
Applications must include:
– a duly filled-in application form- the applicant’s professional resume
– a DVD (or YouTube link) video recording of a 15-minute performance (not requested for auditors)
– copy of a photo ID (passport for non-EU citizens)
The envelope must be marked as follows: “Bando Masterclass”.

6) SHORTLISTING AND AUDITIONS
All applications received within the timeframe of this call will be evaluated by a panel appointed by Maestro
Riccardo Muti. Shortlisted candidates will be admitted to an in-person audition; they will be notified by e-mail
to the address indicated on the application form by March 31, 2015.
Shortlisted candidates will show up at Teatro Alighieri, Ravenna on July 9, 2015 (time to be confirmed by e-mail
with at least a 15-day notice).
Auditions before Maestro Riccardo Muti will focus on Verdi’s Falstaff.
Applicants for the “conductors course” may be requested to stand a second audition with the Orchestra on the
morning of July 10, 2015, also on Falstaff.
Successful candidates for both courses will be notified at the end of auditions.
Participation in the Masterclass is free for all regular students.
Auditors will be required to pay the following fees:
– € 150.00 (students of Conservatories, Music Schools or equivalent foreign Academies of Music)
– € 800.00 (all others)
All participants in the Masterclass, both regular and audit students, will bear all travel, board and lodging
expenses. A list of accommodation facilities in the city of Ravenna and the surrounding area will be provided on
