Kenneth Kiesler (USA) Berlin Sinfonietta 12th International Masterclass for Conductors MOZART BEETHOVEN BRAHMS May 10th – 15th 2015
IMB Proudly Presents:
Kenneth Kiesler (USA)
12th International Masterclass for Conductors
MOZART BEETHOVEN BRAHMS
May 10th – 15th 2015
We are happy to announce our 12th masterclass, the fifth with the world renowned “Mentor of Conductors,” Maestro Kenneth Kiesler. As in earlier masterclasses, Maestro Kielser arrival to Europe creates an opportunity to experience his highly regarded and important approach to teaching the art of conducting. Kiesler, known for his in depth interpretations of the German Romantic repertoire, will give for the first time in IMB’s history a masterclass with one of the most challenging and difficult to conduct symphonies in the literature, Brahms’ 3rd Symphony. We are happy that we could expand the orchestra at our disposal for this unique occasion and we are thankful as always that Maestro Kiesler is keeping accepting our invitations and always coming back to give masterclasses in Berlin.
Besides intensive active conducting sessions with a professional orchestra, each one of the participants will have the chance to work with Mr. Kiesler on critical aspects of conducting, including score studying, musical analysis and conducting technique. Maestro Kiesler, as always, will put a strong emphases on the psychological/mental aspect of the conducting profession. Along side, he will share with the group valuable information and priceless insights about the conducting world today, as it reflects from his experience of being an active conductor and one of the world’s influential music teachers for long years.
The number of participants is limited to twelve. There is no age limit, though this masterclass is suitable for advanced conductors.
The course will be taught primarily in English, and secondarily in German. If you don’t speak these languages, and you would like to participate in the masterclass, we will make our best effort to provide a translator. Please mention that in your application.
All the sessions with the orchestra will be video recorded, and each participant will receive his or her videos on a 8 GB USB stick, which he or she may keep and take home with them.
We look forward to this exciting masterclass. You are very welcome to apply here.
W. A. Mozart
Symphony No. 25 in G Minor KV 183
L. v. Beethoven

We would like to express our enourmous gratitude to the Juedische Gemeinde zu Berlin, and specially to Mr. Kosche for cooperating and supporting us on this masterclass.
