The Audition to select an assistant conductor for Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France is open to musicians of all nationalities. 2. The candidates should be under 35 years on January 1, 2015. How to apply 1. The candidate must submit his application before April 1, 2015, midnight by e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Please fill the “subject line” of your mail. 2. The application must include the following scanned-documents: -the completed and legible application form -recent curriculum vitae -an electronic link attesting the candidate ability to conduct (You Tube, Viméo, Daylimotion, electronic files, We Transfer) -certificate of studies, qualifications and prizes -recent photographs -candidate’s identity card or passport 3. The closing of application is fixed on April 1, 2015. 4. Candidates submitting false information or material will be disqualified. Selection procedure 1. After reviewing applications and video recordings, the jury will select 6 candidates. No reason for accepting or rejecting applications will be given. 2. The 6 candidates admitted to participate in the audition will receive confirmation by e-mail on April 10, 2015 latest. They must confirm their participation in the competition by e-mail on April 13, 2015 latest. They will receive a notification with all necessary practical details. 3. The audition will take place at Auditorium de Radio France; 116 avenue du Président Kennedy 75016 Paris, on April 21, 2015. It will happen in one round, closed-door. 2. The test will consist of performing the 3 following pieces : • Beethoven : 5 th Symphony, 1st movement / Bärenreiter • Stravinsky : Le Sacre du Printemps, from figure 103 onwards / Boosey&Hawkes (version 1947) • Sibelius : Valse Triste / Breitkopf 3. The candidate must bring his scores with the indicated editions. 4. The jury can interrupt and interact with the candidate at any time during the test. 5. The candidate will have 45 minutes to work with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. 6. The jury will be composed of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France Designate Musical Director, Mikko Franck ; Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France interim Artistic Director, Michael Fine; Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France musicians. 7. The result will be announced the day of the audition. 8. The decision of the jury is final and beyond appeal. The jury reserves the right not to name a laureate. 3° ASSISTANT CONDUCTOR RESPONSABILITIES AND FINANCIAL CONDITIONS 1. The laureate will have to fill the followings missions with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France : • Guarantee his systematic availability to replace programmed conductor in case of cancellation, Radio France keeping the choice to give him or not the concerned concert. • Conduct concerts (evening / pedagogic / families / regional) • Conduct rehearsals • Assist musical staff in programme planning • Work with Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France’s music library 2. The calendar of these activities will be established by mutual agreement with the laureate. 3. Financial conditions: -Fixed-term contract from September 1, 2015 to July 31, 2016 -Gross remuneration for all period of € 20 000 (gross remuneration per month of 1800 euros) -Gross remuneration for additional performances to be negotiated 4. The laureate will comply with all laws regarding in respect to French law governing the employment of foreign nationals. …/… 4 4° TRANSPORTATION COSTS The costs of transportation and stay will be at the candidate’s charge 5° GENERAL CLAUSES 1. The candidates agree fully with the whole general clauses of the regulation 2. The candidates give up any appeal concerning the conditions of the organization, the proceeding or the result of the audition. 3. All disputes on the interpretation or application of the present regulation will be examined and answered by Radio France and the Jury. 6° JURISDICTION Direct or indirect disputes arising from the competition may only be settled by a court of law in France. 7° OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF AGREEMENT 1. The above rules are provided in French and English. 2. The French text is the only officially accepted version.
