The David Effron Conducting Fellowship is awarded to a gifted student pursuing a career in conducting. The applicant must be enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last year) from a graduate conducting program.

The David Effron Conducting Fellowship is awarded to a gifted student pursuing a career in conducting. The applicant must be enrolled in or recently graduated (within the last year) from a graduate conducting program.

Timothy Muffitt will guide the studies of the conducting fellow.

Deadline to apply: March 1, 2015.

The conducting fellowship package includes a $2,000 stipend given to the fellow after arrival. It also includes covers the cost of travel to the festival (up to $500) and transportation to Chautauqua from Erie or Buffalo airport if flying.

Application Procedures

  1. Deadline is March 1, 2015.
  2. Submit the application online.
  3. Upload your audition video directly with your application. Video should be a minimum of 30 minutes in length, but no more than 60 minutes, and at least 10 minutes must be rehearsal.
  4. Recommendations from three different people submitted online.
  5. A current headshot and resume (these can also be uploaded directly with your application).
