CONDUCTING MASTER CLASS: Brasov Philharmonic, Romania 5 July – 11 July, 2015 Master Teacher, Dumitru Goia
Brasov Philharmonic and Conducting Teacher Dumitru Goia offer an intensive week-long course in orchestral conducting. Limited to 10-12 active participants, the master class guarantees each participant 80 minutes of full orchestra podium exposure, including public performance, in addition to 2 hours of conducting practicum with piano duo, and extensive score study. The master class provides a unique opportunity to study and conduct Tchaikovsky’s challenging masterpiece,Manfred Symphony.
The medieval city of Brasov is a major cultural center of Transylvania. Situated 166 km north of Bucharest, the city is the seventh most populous city in Romania, a central transportation hub, and a popular tourist destination in Europe.

Participants have the opportunity to rehearse any part of the program. Maestro Goia will make final assignments for the performance.
4 July — Arrival in Brasov, Romania
A deposit of $450.00 USD is due by 31 May, 2015. Deposits will be refunded only if the withdrawing participant’s place is filled by another participant.

ROOM AND BOARD:
This master class is open to all conductors. There is no upper age limit. Applicants of varying levels of training and experience will be considered. A maximum of 12 applicants will be selected to participate.
