CALL FOR LECTURERS DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC
Areas of Specialization: Chamber Orchestra Conductor and Instructor of Conducting
Primary consideration date June 15, 2015; thereafter, positions open until filled.
Applications are invited for possible academic teaching positions in the academic year 2015-2016 in the above-mentioned areas, should vacancies appear. Appointments will vary from 10% to 100% time, depending on workload assignments, and will range from one quarter to one year, with the possibility of reappointment, depending on performance (evaluated by annual reviews) and departmental needs. Applicants should hold a graduate degree in conducting or equivalent professional experience, and at least one year of teaching experience. The department is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through teaching, research and/or creative or performance activity, and service. Salary is dependent upon qualifications.
Applications will be kept active for consideration for one year, pending appropriate vacancies within the department. Applicants must submit a new letter each academic year to retain eligibility. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreements.
