Job Description:

–   Lead and develop university orchestra (founded 15 years ago) comprised of college students (i.e., both music majors and non-music majors), and community members (e.g., alumni, active and retired area music educators, high school students, etc.)

–   Direct twice-weekly rehearsals (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) throughout fall and spring semesters

–  Conduct one or two concerts each semester, and prepare the orchestra for choral/orchestral works and music theater productions as needed

– Select repertoire appropriate to the ensemble

– Work with the Orchestra Manager/Department Instrumental Coordinator and other Department of Music faculty and staff to recruit and retain student and community players

– Participate in Department of Music weekend ensemble retreat in September

Qualifications:

–   Minimum Master’s Degree in Music (i.e., MM, MME), preferably with an emphasis in instrumental conducting.  Orchestral conducting experience at the professional, college, and/or high school level highly desirable

–   Able to affirm the Evangelical Free Church of America Statement of Faith
