ASSISTANT CONDUCTOR – National Music Festival.

Now in its sixth season (5 June-18 June 2016), the National Music Festival is accepting applications for Assistant Conductor to the Festival Symphony Orchestras.

Under the direction of the Artistic Director, Richard Rosenberg, the Assistant Conductor(s) will serve as cover conductor, conduct the NMF orchestras and ensembles in concerts and assist the conductor and guest conductors as assigned.

Orchestral repertoire to include the Beethoven, Symphony No. 9, Berlioz, “Symphonie Fantastique,” Prokofiev, Symphony No. 7 and the Weill, “Seven Deadly Sins.”

The National Music Festival at Washington College brings together inspiring mentors and the next generation of gifted musicians, providing education, scholarships and affordable, adventurous public performances. All NMF apprentices receive full scholarships. For two weeks each June, these musicians live and work together, presenting over 35 concerts — ranging from solo recitals to large symphony orchestra performances with chorus — and 200 free open rehearsals for music lovers from all over the world.
