AMF Conducting Program is an intensive four-week course designed for advanced conductors

AMF Conducting Program is an intensive four-week course designed for advanced conductors. The program engages conductors through a combination of coaching from eminent conductors and weekly conducting sessions with the festival’s all-fellowship orchestra.

The program is directed by Maestro David Amado.

Participants attend daily seminars which cover a broad range of topics such as conducting technique, analysis, musicianship, and professional development. In addition, conductors have opportunities to collaborate with various festival departments such as Opera Workshop, Composition Program, Contemporary Ensemble, and Resident Artists throughout the festival season.

To ensure individual attention, approximately six applicants will be invited to participate in the program.

The Atlantic Music Festival is pleased to announce its 2016 Resident Artist Fellowship for conductors.
Now in its 8th season, the AMF Resident Artist Fellowship provides complete financial coverage of tuition, housing, and meals during the four weeks of residency. The program offers gifted young and established artists opportunities to perform and collaborate with internationally renowned artist-faculty members as Resident Artists of the Atlantic Music Festival.
With performance at the center of learning at AMF, the Conducting Program offers unprecedented podium time including weekly lab orchestra sessions with our all-fellowship orchestra, composer reading, and collaboration with the Opera Workshop. The 2016 program will culminate with a performance featuring AMF Conductors.
Information regarding eligibility and application requirements for the AMF 2016 Fellowship Programs are available on the Atlantic Music Festival website.
