Weeklong workshop focused on topics addressed by choral directors and accompanists in the context of choral singing. Daily sessions in conducting, singing, musicianship, class performance, vocal pedagogy, repertory selection and movement-oriented Dalcroze Eurhythmics. Participants conduct Voices, the professional chamber chorus in residence at the Institute. Limited to 14 conductors.

 

Advanced Choral Conducting – Brahms:  Ein deutsches Requiem

In-depth analysis and rehearsal of Brahms’s  Ein deutsches Requiem. Exploration of recent research on issues of choral and instrumental performance practice in the Romantic era. Participants conduct Voices, the professional chorus in residence at the Institute. Limited to 14 conductors.
