POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 16-50F123 POSITION POSTING ID: 11546 Position: Director of Orchestras and Artist/Teacher of Applied Horn Department: Music Hayes Hill Title: Assistant Professor (C40NN) Position Description: The position will include administration of the Orchestra program, conducting the University Symphony Orchestra, and teaching applied horn. Other duties may include music education courses, conducting courses, or other courses based on the candidate’s area of expertise. Department/University Description: The Department of Music is housed on the UWSP campus in the state-of-the-art Noel Fine Arts Center, which is a center for artistic activity on campus and for the community at large. This includes the nationally acclaimed Theater and Dance Program, The Department of Art and Design, and the internationally recognized Aber Suzuki Center. The department has 20 full time and 6 part time faculty. The department is a leader in music education, with a full array of performing ensembles (orchestras, bands, choirs, opera workshop, chamber music), and offers a Masters of Music Education, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Bachelor of Music in music education, performance, jazz studies, and music literature.
