Job Summary/Basic Function:
Initial appointment as the Margot and Bill Winspear Chair in Opera Studies. Has responsibility of heading the opera program at UNT, working with the Musical Director. Directs operas. Teaches classes in operatic acting and opera directing. UNT College of Music faculty members are expected to conduct their work with professionalism, high ethical standards, and collegiality.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in music, a minimum of five years experience running all aspects of a college/university opera program or a professional opera company.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in music, preferably in opera, or significant professional experience. Professional experience may be considered in place of a doctorate in music.
