Director of Orchestras/Upper Strings – Emporia State University Emporia, Kansas


Emporia State University is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-line position in the Department of Music in Emporia, KS.

The primary responsibilities are directing the university orchestras, teaching applied upper strings, and supervising student teachers in strings as needed. A strong emphasis will be placed upon creativity, collegiality, service, and recruitment. The candidate should have demonstrated success in conducting, teaching, and recruitment. Candidates must possess a terminal degree in orchestral conducting or upper string performance (ABD will be considered if degree is completed by the date of appointment).

Rank: Assistant Professor. Salary: Competitive. Started date is August 13, 2017.
