Springfield Symphony, Springfield-Drury Civic Orchestra, and Drury University to host conducting workshop

 

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Springfield Symphony, Springfield-Drury Civic Orchestra, and Drury University will host a conducting workshop on February 24-25, 2017 in Clara Thompson Hall at Drury University.  The purpose of the workshop is to provide aspiring conductors the opportunity to work with a professional chamber ensemble of Springfield Symphony musicians in a nurturing environment.

Led by Kyle Wiley Pickett, music director of the Springfield (MO) Symphony and Topeka (KS) Symphony and Christopher Koch, music director of the Springfield Regional Opera and Springfield-Drury Civic Orchestra, the workshop will offer each participant 30-35 minutes of podium time as well as a preparatory session with the workshop clinicians.
