Masterclass with Atso Almila, Professor of Conducting at the Sibelius Academy, June 21 – 28, 2017.
The 2017 Zlin Conducting Masterclass aims to provide an ideal learning environment for aspiring professional orchestral conductors. Over eight days, fourteen participants will be given expert tuition by Atso Almila, Professor of Conducting at the Sibelius Academy, and Luke Dollman, Lecturer in Conducting at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. The orchestra for the masterclass, the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic, is one of the Czech Republic’s finest orchestras, and the masterclass will be held in their state-of-the-art concert hall in Zlin, Czech Republic. Conductors will work with a ten piece ensemble, chamber orchestra, and full orchestra over the course of the program, participate in regular video analysis sessions, and receive one to one tuition.
