Seton Hill University invites applications for the position Assistant Professor of Music – Strings/Conducting, beginning in August 2017.
Responsibilities include developing and coordinating the string area, conducting the university/community orchestra, teaching in the applied area, and additional coursework as determined by the qualifications of the candidate and the needs of the program.
Requirements include a DMA with consideration given to a candidate with an MM and demonstrated success in conducting and teaching. A commitment to recruitment and developing relationships with area music educators and to teaching within the context of a liberal arts education is also required.
Send letter of application, curriculum vitae, evidence of ongoing professional work, a statement of teaching philosophy, transcripts (copies acceptable for application) and three current letters of reference.

Review of applications will begin on February 15, 2017 and will continue until the position is filled.
Seton Hill University is a Catholic, liberal arts institution, located in southwestern Pennsylvania, 35 miles east of Pittsburgh. The Seton Hill University Performing Arts Center, completed in 2009, contains complete facilities for music, including the Carol Reichgut Concert Hall, noted for its excellent acoustics.
