Summer 2017 Conducting Workshop in Greece for Novice Conductors and Music Educators

Are you a novice conductor looking for your first workshop? Perhaps you are a music educator who would like to refine and develop your conducting skills in a supportive, collegial, non-competitive environment. Maybe you are considering a graduate degree in conducting, and you would like to get expert instruction and great videos to prepare for auditions. If you fit into one or more of these categories, then the 2017 Prelude, Audition and Competition Academy is the ideal summer conducting program for you.

Up to 12 conductors will join Maestros Robert Gutter and Charles Gambetta in scenic Kiato, Greece on the shores of the Mediterranean in the heart of historic Corinthia for 10 days of discovery, study and performance from July 6 – 16. In addition to 150 minutes of podium time, specialized coaching to prep for auditions and competitions and a “boot camp” for novice conductors, the program will include a cultural excursion to Ancient Corinth and the world famous Greek Theatre in Epidarius.

All participating conductors will conduct during morning and evening instructional sessions with string sextet, and they will receive daily training in Charles Gambetta’s revolutionary Embodied Conducting™ method that helps conductors deepen the connections between their movements, the music they are conducting and the musicians they are leading. The curriculum also includes transposition, score preparation and musicianship for conductors classes led by Maestro Robert Gutter.

The incredibly low $1,495 US course fee includes a double occupancy hotel room with breakfast. Find complete details including faculty bios, repertoire list, location, alumni endorsements, fee and application at http://rconductors.com/preludeacademy/.
