Position Description: The Department of Music, Theatre & Dance at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a full time, temporary one-year position (AA# 35-6-260) as Instructor, beginning Fall 2017. Core teaching is directing the Bloomsburg University-Community Orchestra, with additional teaching assignments based on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will share our commitment to teaching and learning and be an active participant in student recruitment efforts on and off campus. Our program is NASM accredited and serves approximately 70 majors with emphases in Music Education, Music Liberal Arts, and Audio Recording.
 Qualifying Experience / Education:
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Conducting or related field from an accredited institution required by August 19, 2017, Doctorate preferred. A minimum of 3 years successful conducting experience with a large instrumental ensemble at the high school or college level is required. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred. Demonstration of all minimum requirements must be evident in the application process.

Finalists for the position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process. Recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time faculty within the department.
