The position of Director of Orchestras at Lee’s Summit West High School is open due to Kirt Mosier’s retirement at the end of the current school year. As many of you may know, Kirt has enjoyed an extremely successful career, not only as a public school orchestra director, but also as a nationally recognized clinician and composer. The position from which he is retiring involves teaching/conducting 4 orchestras (about 180 players) in an engaged, collaborative music department. The Lee’s Summit School District is very supportive of the entire music program district wide, and the orchestra program (including both full orchestra and string orchestra) at Lee’s Summit West High School represents one of greater Kansas City’s finest. Many upper-level students are regularly selected as members of regional and state honor ensembles, as well as the Youth Symphony of Kansas City.
