Opera Bootcamp and Opera Studio join forces for our boldest program yet! July 8-30, 2017*

*8th & 9th – Pre-workshop Intensive for Singers

*Conductors and Pianists report on July 10th

CCM Opera Bootcamp is an intense and dynamic program designed to develop career skills for conductors and singers alike. If you are an aspiring, industrious, and fearless conductor, singer, pianist, coach or stage director, we want YOU! In just three weeks, we will mount two opera productions (Gianni Schicchi and Les mamelles de Tirésias) and one program of staged Mozart scenes and arias, all with orchestra, all in original language (both French and Italian language instruction will be offered to support the assigned repertoire).

You will grow, you will learn, you will work, you will have fun, and you WILL improve!

NEW! Stagecraft Intensive for Singers

All singers begin Bootcamp with a two day intensive, July 8 and 9, focusing on specific tools to prepare you for the rigorous rehearsal schedule to come and that you can utilize throughout your career. These special sessions are included in your tuition and lead by Amy Johnson, Vernon Hartman, and Andrea Tutt.

Stagecraft Intensive includes:

  • Traditional Lyric Stage Craft
  • Michael Chekhov Acting Technique
  • Period movement
  • Dances used in opera
  • Career mentorship specific to our industry

Why Opera Bootcamp?

This program is process oriented. It’s Bootcamp! You are trained. The skills taught can be applied quickly and effectively to have great impact on your success as an artist.

Training singers and conductors alongside each other builds a depth of understanding often not acquired until well into ones professional career. Program Faculty are successful professionals. You emerge from the program better and part of our CCM family.

Please note: enrollment for CCM Summer Programs is limited. The application deadline for Opera Bootcamp is April 15, 2017.
