RNCM Conducting Masterclasses 2017/18

The RNCM is pleased to invite applications for its 2017-18 programme of external conducting master classes.

There will be a weekend course on 25-26 November 2017, a two day course from 19-20 February 2018, and a three day course from 4-6 May 2018.

These courses reflect the core belief that underpins all of the College’s world-class conducting programmes: conductors learn best by conducting other musicians. All participants will conduct at least twice on each day, working with professional pianists, RNCM student ensembles, and for the May course a partnership with Manchester Camerata – the city’s professional chamber orchestra.

Typical participants will be current, recent, or prospective students of a full-time conducting course, and many travel from Europe or further afield to attend. Applications are currently open for all courses. All details and links to online application at: https://www.rncm.ac.uk/short-conducting-courses/

The RNCM is currently at the forefront of conducting training internationally. Current students and recent graduates of our Junior Fellowship and Masters programmes currently hold, or have recently completed, assistant conductor positions with the Berliner Philharmoniker, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, English National Opera, Hallé, London Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Netherlands Philharmonic, and the Minnesota Orchestra.

We also run a course for conductors working in music education, information about that is at the same url.
