The College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position as Director of Wind Studies in the Ensembles and Conducting Division. Rank and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Director serves as the Music Director for three ensembles: Wind Orchestra, CCM’s premier large wind ensemble, and two chamber ensembles. Academic responsibilities include teaching graduate conducting, Survey of Wind Literature, and related courses as well as the advising and mentoring of MM and DMA graduate wind conducting students. The Director will be expected to maintain the established national and international prominence of CCM’s Wind Studies program through activities that may encompass recordings, special projects, national and international tours, and other related projects, depending on the strengths of the candidate. Collaborations with other CCM divisions are also highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must demonstrate a national reputation in teaching and conducting, possess a minimum of three (3) years experience as a Wind Band Conductor at the collegiate level, and ideally have a record of graduate student advising and mentoring. A doctoral degree or professional equivalent (5 years’ experience as a professional wind conductor) is required.
