How to apply

You need to submit the online application form and send your CV to britten-pears@aldeburgh.co.uk. The application form for 2011 will be available shortly. You will receive an automated reply from this account explaining how to submit your application fee on our website. Once application form, CV and fee have been received your audition will be scheduled and you will be contacted with details of your audition date and time.

Applicants for the BPO Musicians’ Company Conductor’s Bursary and composer applicants for Contemporary Composition and Performance have different application procedures and do not have a live audition.

Application fee

• Orchestral courses:
£25

• All other courses:
£30

Please note that the application fee is non-refundable and must be paid by every applicant – including existing BPO and BPBO members and both members of a duo application.

The audition slot will only be confirmed upon receipt of the audition fee. All payments must be made in advance by credit/debit card via the Aldeburgh Music Website. Thank you

N.B. if you are applying for multiple courses you need only pay one application fee. Where the application fee differs, the higher fee should be paid.

We accept payment in the following formats:

Credit/Debit Card – we accept all types of credit/debit card EXCEPT American Express and Visa Electron

Composer and conductor applications

Composer applicants for Contemporary Composition and Performance should submit an application form, CV, application fee, a CD or DVD and one or two scores of recent works, a list of works and performances and two letters of recommendation from established musicians.

Conductor applications for the BPO Musicians’ Company Conductor’s Bursary should submit an application form, CV, application fee, video file or DVD of a recent performance of a symphonic or chamber orchestra work, and two letters of recommendation from established musicians.

Deadlines

Application deadlines are always two full days before the actual audition; the final deadline is December 14 2010.
We encourage participants applying by tape to submit their recording by 14 December. However, we will still accept tapes until 10 January 2011.
