MASTERCLASS OF CONDUCTING, INSTRUMENTAL INTERPRETATION AND DEEPENING IN THE STUDY OF MUSIC WITH THE CONDUCTOR CRISTIAN MĂCELARU

The 19th edition of the George Enescu International Competition brings an innovative element to its structure: Masterclass of conducting, instrumental interpretation and in-depth study of music , which will take place between September 23-27, 2024 , continuing its mission of supporting and promotion of young talents by encouraging artistic excellence.

For the first time in the history of the Enescu Competition, a new dimension is added, that of conducting, thus reflecting the rich contribution of the great George Enescu in all musical spheres where he stood out: composer, violinist, pianist, conductor and pedagogue. The conducting, instrumental interpretation and in-depth music study masterclass includes workshops for young musicians specializing in conducting, violin, cello or piano.

Following the operating model of the George Enescu International Competition, inspired by the life of the artist whose name it bears, the conducting, instrumental interpretation masterclass and deepening in the study of music represents a platform where young musicians, instrumentalists or conductors, are guided in developing a career of success in the field of classical music by practicing and improving performance skills.

The workshops will be supported by maestro Cristian Măcelaru , with the participation of the Romanian Youth Orchestra . All sessions will be held at the Romanian Athenaeum, in Bucharest, Romania.
