Instrumental Ensemble Conducting – McMaster University

The School of the Arts seeks to fill a one-year Contractually Limited Appointment for an Assistant Professor of Music with strength in Instrumental Ensemble conducting. The appointment will commence on August 1, 2022. The successful candidate will teach 21 units (seven one-term courses) over 3 terms, assigned in alignment with the candidate’s skills and experience.

The successful applicant will be qualified to conduct the McMaster Concert Band, along with other courses, specifically courses in Conducting, Orchestration, and introductory courses in Music History and Music Theory. Other courses substituted for those above may be considered depending on the successful candidate. Teaching in Spring and/or Summer Sessions will likely be required.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
