Realise your potential as a conductor, on Denise Ham’s comprehensive part-time course in the art and technique of conducting.

Fortnightly sessions through the academic year allow long-term artistic development alongside other work. Learn from Denise Ham – one of Europe’s foremost teachers of conducting, together with guests Colin Metters, Dominic Grier, Robert Houlihan and John Longstaff.

2024/25 repertoire includes Mozart, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Schumann, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Wagner, plus Beethoven’s Piano Concerto no 3 with world-class soloist Llŷr Williams. In each session the small class works with pianists or ensemble.

Suitable for accomplished musicians with at least some conducting experience and a level of familiarity with core orchestral repertoire. Past students of Denise include professional conductors, film/concert composers, music college professors, ensemble and band leaders, and orchestral musicians.
