Conducting and Interpretation Masterclass with Maestro Benjamin Zander at the Arad International Masterclasses (August 14-19)

Arad International Masterclasses is pleased to present the Conducting and Interpretation Masterclass with maestro Benjamin Zander. Maestro Zander’s masterclasses are widely seen and well praised all around the world

During 6 days in the beautiful Romanian city of Arad, only 10 conductors will have the opportunity to work closely with maestro Zander, receiving individual feedback and gaining podium experience with a chamber ensemble (string quartet plus two pianos). Additionally, participants will attend other special activities with maestro Zander as well as all the Festival’s concerts.

Each participant will have approximately 180 min total of podium time during the course, and it is mandatory to attend every session all throughout.

Conductors from all ages and nationalities are welcome to apply. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis starting now.

– W. A. Mozart’s D Major Divertimento K.136

-Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 and No. 5, all movements

-Brahms’ Symphonies No. 1 and No. 2, all movement

– Brahms’ Symphony No. 4, 1st & 2nd mov

-Tchaikovsky Symphony 5, all movements

-Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 “From The New World”,  all movements

-Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (put the score in your tablet) Mtro Zander is obsessed about the 9th, he never stops thinking about it.
*Participants are not required to learn all this music. This is a list for you to choose from. In every session you will be invited to conduct anything that you would like from this list, and you should only choose works (or movements) that you already learned very well before coming to this masterclass.
